Those home improvement shows

You know what’s irritating about those home improvement shows (other than, oh, everything)? The thousand-dollar table saws. You are not designing anything “on a dime” if you have multiple thousand-dollar table saws.

True that. I keep watching. I’m an addict. I’m also convinced if I see every one of those shows that somehow, when I actually own a house, the magical set of tools will be included in the garage or shed. Because, really, that’s where the home improvement dollars get drained. Damn tools.
I also wonder how they find all these awesome couches and tables at thrift stores. The ones I always see look as though people purposely left spots to make you wonder what caused that “spot” or “carving” or “general mishap.”

Oh Lacy, I’m with you. I don’t know what makes me think that I too can easily rip out and replace a kitchen or bath one day. But those stupid shows make me think its true. The sad thing is we’ve gotten Chris’s mom hooked and suddenly she wants a new kitchen and sky lights. I see many hospital trips in our future.
